Prose vs. Ouai vs. Vegamour: My Favorite Hair Care Product

I tried three popular hair care products to see if these splurge-y brands are worth it. Here’s what I found:

MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE:
I started using prose when my dry scalp and frizzy hair was not improving with drugstore shampoo and conditioner. I had tried Not Your Mamas and a few other brands but each time I would either only temporarily get rid of the dry scalp OR my hair would be super oily and weighted down.
I used Prose for over a year and saw improvement in my dry scalp and itching. I also really loved the available scents and that I was able to work with them to tweak my formula. My hair still looked and felt very dry and damaged so I decided I would trial another shampoo and conditioner combo - which led me to Ouai.

MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE:
I switched to Ouai from Prose. I was looking for something that was easier to access and more affordable. Ouai offered both of these things and I’d heard great things about it. Like most people say, my hair felt so clean after using Ouai. The overall scent was just that - clean but not as appealing as the Prose options. I used the Medium formula which matches my hair type. I found that my hair was immediately softer than when I was using Ouai. The downside is that my hair felt heavy and over-hydrated like it did when I was using drugstore brands. MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE:
Vegamour reached out to me to see if I would be interested in trialing their products. They asked for me to give an honest review of their products and I did receive free products to trial but I assure you, these opinions are all my own.
They recommended the Shampoo, Conditioner and Hair Mask Complete Repair Kit in HYDR-8 based on my “hair issues.” I continued to have no itchy and dry scalp like with the Prose, but even my husband commented on how great my hair looked after a few weeks. My hair felt healthy and looked more shiny, less frizzy and hydrated. I also used their anti-grey potion but thats for another post! I had never heard of Vegamour before they approached me and I am so glad I did. For my hair type, this has been a perfect fit and I’ve already ordered more (independent of Vegamour).

I recommend starting with Vegamour. Like Prose, they have a quiz to help you determine which formula is right for you. I love that they also have supplements and serums to supplement your hair care routine too. I’ve been using the detangler after I shower and am also going to add in the Weightless Repair oil for my frizz.
